Sheila Kennedy’s memory [Aug. 26] is faulty.

Republicans believe in science. We believe that there is evolution of the species, not from species. Darwin believes that, as well.

Republicans recognize that science is not the hoax of man-made global warming. (Or is it now climate change, since the earth has cooled for well over a decade?)

Georgia Rep. Paul Brown calls it like he sees it. The big bang theory takes just as much faith to believe as to believe in an all-powerful Creator. The first law of thermodynamics and the law of entropy are in stark contrast to the theory.

In contrast to the “crazy” Republicans who have stolen her “memory” of the GOP, here are a couple of examples of the party she now claims to stand with:

• “You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” –Vice President Joe Biden

• “If I lived in Massachusetts, I’d try to vote ten times … Yeah that’s right, I’d cheat to keep these bastards out. I would. Because that’s exactly what they are.” –MSNBC host Ed Schultz

I miss the days of our founding when we could debate ideas based upon evidence and facts, rather than angry name-calling.
