A show based on animals and their bond with humans, produced by former WISH-TV Channel 8 anchor Patty Spitler, will premiere on the CBS affiliate Oct. 19 at 5:30 a.m.

“Pet Pals TV” already runs on sister station WNDY-TV Channel 23 on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.

The show airs on nine television stations in seven states, including WKYI-TV in Louisville and KNVA-TV in Austin, Texas.

Spitler’s co-host is TV news veteran Paul Poteet, now a freelance weatherman who appears on several stations around the country.

Spitler retired from WISH in 2004 due to hearing loss and balance issues from Meniere’s disease.

Both hosts have animal “street cred.” Spitler owns “Louie,” an eight-year old Bernese mountain dog; a mixed-breed rescue dog named Mabel and four shelter cats.

Poteet has two rescue cats.

“Our goal is to tell great pet stories as we inform, educate and entertain,” said Ramon Carrera, owner and CEO of “Pet Pals TV.”
