Those losing jobs included Dave “The King” Wilson, the afternoon drive-time host on WIBC since 1995. Taking over the shift will be Steve Simpson.
Spokeswoman Kate Snedeker said the cuts included corporate, radio and publishing employees, but she would not say how many worked at the company’s Monument Circle headquarters.
She said affected employees will receive severance and other support.
Emmis, which owns radio stations and publishes city magazines, has struggled for several years. Its shares closed Thursday at 27 cents, down 2 cents on the day.
