Subscribe NowFrontier Communications Corp. plans to eliminate 54 jobs at its Carmel collection center starting in mid-November, the telecommunications said last week in a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
The Stamford, Conn.-based firm said it has automated a number of systems at the center at 11799 N. College Ave. and will no longer need the workers. The eliminations are scheduled to begin Nov. 18 and be completed by Dec. 2, it said.
Almost half of the 116 employees at the center will lose their jobs, including 50 credit and collection consultants. Three collection supervisors and one collection specialist will also be let go.
Frontier sells broadband, voice, satellite-video, wireless-Internet, and data-security products in 27 states. It has about 14,100 employees in the United States
