John D. Clark III also serves as chairman of the Airports Council International North America, the primary trade group for airports.
Clark will replace John Kish, who will head the redevelopment of a municipal stadium in Evansville. Kish led the $1 billion Indianapolis midfield terminal project.
“Our search committee found in John Clark someone with a lifelong passion for aviation, a remarkable record of success and a set of experiences particularly suited to the needs of Indianapolis,” said Randall Tobias, chairman of the Indianapolis Airport Authority Board.
Clark has been the CEO of Jacksonville’s airport’s since 1996.
“We were particularly impressed with his record of growth in revenue and air services for the Jacksonville authority, goals that are important to us here in Indianapolis,” said Tobias.
