WXIN-TV Fox59 waved goodbye this weekend to Jeremiah Johnson, who has covered sports at the Indianapolis station for nine years. Among his duties were hosting "Football Friday Night" and "Friday Night Fast Break." He also co-anchored "Sports Overtime" on Sunday nights.
“I’m staying in Indianapolis, and I’ll be producing Indiana Pacers pregame shows for Fox Sports Indiana,” Johnson told viewers.
The station has not yet announced a successor.
Johnson grew up in the northern Indiana City of Peru and graduated from Ball State University in 2000.
He previously worked at WYMT-TV Channel 57 in Hazard, Ky., and at WTWO-TV Channel 2 in Terre Haute.
Johnson also has been a sideline reporter for the IHSAA Champions Network.
He told viewers the highlights of his time at Fox 59 were covering high school sports and Butler University basketball.
Besides Pacers coverage, Fox Sports Indiana carries Indiana Fever and Cincinnati Reds games.
