The $500,000 project at the Greenwood Municipal Airport will give it space for up to 10 planes inside the enclosed hangars.
Airport board president David Kovach told the Daily Journal that officials already have a list of plane owners interested in leasing the hangar space.
The airport just south of Indianapolis collected about one-third of its $1 million budget this year from the leasing of hangar space, with aircraft fuel sales being its other primary income.
Officials say the city will repay the loan on the project with property tax revenue.
