Belcan Corp. has hired about 20 people this year and expects to keep adding to its local work force over the next several years as it continues to provide engineering services to Rolls-Royce, its largest local customer, as well as Florida-based B/E Aerospace, said Bob McCoy, a Belcan operations manager.
About 215 people, mostly contract engineers, work for Cincinnati-based Belcan’s engineering division in Indianapolis. A separate arm of the company provides temporary laborers to factories throughout the state.
Belcan more than doubled its office space to 26,730 square feet at Two Park Fletcher in southwest Indianapolis. The company had to reel in about 130 engineers who were working out of Rolls-Royce’s downtown headquarters, where space became too crowded.
Belcan leased more space than it currently needs so it has room to grow.
