Bill Marsh spent 24 years with the grocery chain, most recently as director of real estate, a role that included site selection, acquisition, lease negotiation and property management.
He was involved in the restructuring of Marsh’s real estate portfolio and disposition of excess real estate, which generated more than $15 million for the company.
“Bill brings a fresh perspective to our team,” said Beth Patterson, director of retail services for Colliers’ Indiana region, in a prepared statement. “His experience with complicated negotiations and major tenants will offer our clients an exceptional competitive advantage.”
Bill Marsh is grandson of Ermal Marsh, who founded the company in the 1930s and took it public before he died in a plane crash in 1959.
Florida-based Sun Capital Partners bought Marsh Supermarkets in 2006. The company operates 97 supermarkets under the Marsh, Hometown Markets, LoBill Foods, Arthur’s Fresh Markets and O’Malia Food Markets brands.
Seattle-based Colliers operates more than 480 offices in 62 countries.
