IHS aims to prepare Hoosiers of all ages for the occasion through a range of educational initiatives.
Among its plans: providing schools with 33,000 copies of “Hoosiers and the American Story,” an upcoming book from IHS Press, and organizing nine regional training sessions that will help teachers use the book in their classrooms.
The new grant, announced Dec. 30, follows a September 2012 gift from the endowment that paid to plan the educational initiatives.
IHS collaborated with Indiana Humanities to develop the plans, and the two not-for-profits will work together on implementation.
