The state provided no other details, but said Gov. Mike Pence will attend the announcement.
Hat World is the parent company of Lids Sports Group, which includes Lids retail headwear stores, Lids Clubhouse retail outlets and the Lids Locker Room specialty fan retail chain. Lids operates more than 1,000 stores nationwide.
Officials from Hat World and Tennessee-based parent company Genesco Inc. did not return calls seeking comment Thursday.
Hat World previously made a state-coordinated jobs announcement in June 2010. The company, which had about 300 local employees at the time, said it planned to spend $22 million on an expansion that would create as many as 571 jobs by 2015.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Hat World up to $4 million in performance-based tax credits based on those job-creation plans.
Lids Sports Group accounted for 30 percent of Genesco’s $2.6 billion in sales in the fiscal year that ended in February 2013.
