Capital Center, a downtown twin-office-tower complex, has been honored with The Outstanding Building of the Year award for central Indiana by the Building Owners and Managers Association.

Hertz Investment Group, a private real estate investment firm in Santa Monica, Calif., bought the 648,000-square-foot Capital Center in April from an Invesco-managed German fund that had owned the property for about 12 years.

Tenants include Fifth Third Bank, the BKD LLP accounting firm, and the Frost Brown Todd LLC law firm.

BOMA presents the awards annually honoring the best commercial buildings throughout the United States. Buildings are judged on criteria ranging from site management to environmental and sustainability procedures.

The complex is 78-percent occupied, according to the latest IBJ statistics. CBRE is the leasing firm for the buildings.
