Don’t touch that dial here, but Fort Wayne listeners are in for some big changes ahead. Minnesota-based Adams Radio Group paid at least $6.4 million for seven stations owned by two broadcasters in Indiana’s No. 2 city: Summit City Radio Group and Oasis Radio Group.
The stations snapped up by Adams include rocker WXKE-FM 103.9 and oldies station WGL-AM 1250.
Blaine Thompson, publisher of Indiana RadioWatch, said ownership will be spread further. With regulators frowning on one owner dominating too many stations in a given market, Adams plans to swap WGL with Valparaiso-based Calvary Radio Network for a translator station at 103.3 FM in Fort Wayne.
Meanwhile, Adams will swap adult contemporary format WHPP-FM 106.3 in Columbia City for WLYV-AM 1450 in Fort Wayne.
