Subscribe NowJeffrey Sparks, former president and CEO of Heartland Truly Moving Pictures, has decided to turn his energies to rebuilding Indianapolis’ distressed communities after stepping down from the film-festival producer in 2013.
Sparks, 63, has joined Indianapolis-based not-for-profit and public policy research group Sagamore Institute as a senior fellow, the think tank announced Wednesday.
Sparks plans to work with the Local Services Investment Corp., charter schools, churches and other community groups to help coordinate efforts to revitalize Fountain Square and other southeast-side neighborhoods.
He also intends to write a book on the history of Heartland Truly Moving Pictures and its impact on the film industry.
