The companies did not disclose terms of the deal.
SteadyServ intends to move PintLabs’ staff to a larger office in its hometown of Raleigh, N.C., and use it for software development and sales support.
Fifteen-employee SteadyServ designed iKeg, a sensor device that tracks how much beer is in a keg and reports to mobile devices. The company says the device allows restaurants, bars and distributors to better manage their inventories.
The PintLabs acquisition will give SteadyServ a database of 30,000 beers and breweries that it will integrate with iKeg.
Consumers can use the service to find information on beer and breweries in their areas, such as what bars are selling their favorite beers. Distributors and bars, meanwhile, can better understand what they’re selling, SteadyServ says.
