Michael GradyMichael Grady, a radio sports-talk host on WFNI-AM 1070 and the public address announcer for the Pacers, will begin his job at WRTV on Aug. 22, the station announced Tuesday.
Grady, 30, has co-hosted the “Grady & Big Joe Show” on local ESPN-Radio affiliate 1070 The Fan since 2007. The show, which is simulcast on 107.5 FM, runs weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon and is co-hosted by Joe Staysniak.
Grady grew up in Indianapolis, graduated from Warren Central High School in 2001 and attended Vincennes University.
He began working as an emcee at Pacers home games in 2008 before becoming P.A. announcer for the Indiana Fever in 2009 and the Pacers in 2010.
Grady, who received IBJ’s Forty Under 40 honor this year, will continue in his radio and Pacers jobs after starting his TV job.
“Michael will be a great addition to our already dynamic sports team of Dave Furst and Brad Brown to create the most locally-initiated sports team in the market,” WRTV News Director Terri Cope-Walton said in a prepared statement.
Grady’s first day with WRTV coincides with its annual kickoff of Friday Football Frenzy coverage of high school games.
