As general counsel, Murray will serve as the Indianapolis-based public company’s chief legal officer, overseeing strategic efforts and leading negotiations of transactions and contracts.

Before joining Kite, Murray was a partner for eight years at the local Barnes & Thornburg LLP law firm, where he represented companies and individuals in commercial cases throughout the country.

He also advised real estate developers on leases, management agreements and litigation.

“Scott possesses tremendous legal and business knowledge and experience across various industries that will be a great asset to our company,” Kite CEO John A. Kite said in a written statement.

Murray received his law degree from Harvard Law School and earned a bachelor’s in secondary education from Indiana University.
