As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowButler University has retained CBRE to lease 15,000 square feet of retail space that will be built on campus along with a 1,000-space parking garage, the college announced Sept. 22.
The five-story garage will be built on an existing surface lot between Clowes Memorial Hall and Lake Road. It should be finished in August.
CBRE’s leasing efforts will be led by Donna Hovey, a veteran retail broker whose clients have included Marsh Supermarkets Inc., Regions Bank, Starbucks and Exxon Mobil.
Butler announced plans in July to build the parking garage and a 600-bed residence hall. The dormitory will be built on the existing Irwin Library parking lot along Sunset Avenue. Construction should start in the spring and be finished in the fall of 2016.
