The school says the project began eight years ago when 1964 alumnus Ron Scott challenged his 1964 classmates to give a large and memorable reunion gift to their alma mater. Scott died last year of cancer, but his classmates kept up the effort.
University President Eugene Habecker said the gift will have an impact for years to come on the Christian liberal arts college 50 miles southeast of Fort Wayne.
The school said the donation will benefit more than 20 projects on campus with a large sum contributing to student scholarships.
