The Basement, a digital ad agency that has done work for the NCAA, Volkswagen, HP and other national brands, recently moved its office downtown, from Fort Benjamin Harrison.

The move took place in early October, said Jacob Leffler, the president and co-founder. He said proximity to clients and greater space were the driving factors.

The 7-year-old, 16-employee firm now operates out of 5,100 square feet at Union Station, the city-owned building that has roots in the mid-19th century.

“We feel like it’s the most urban part of downtown,” Leffler said of the area near Meridian and South streets.

“When you do the kind of work that we do, it’s very helpful to have a space like that that provides a lot of inspiration,” he said.
