Caremark RX LLC said it would consolidate work done at the facility to locations in Littleton, Colorado, and Jackson, Tennessee.
Layoffs at the center at 7353 Company Drive., near East Southport Road and Interstate 65, are scheduled for Feb. 27, the company said in a Dec. 30 letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Workers at the center provide services and support to tube-feeding patients. Most of the employees are involved in customer service or customer quality. About 20 of the workers are involved in billing services. Another 11 are dietitians.
CVS said some of the employees might be offered an opportunity to stay with the company in other positions, but said “the number and identity of those employees is unknown at this time.”
CVS acquired the Colorado-based Coram LLC business unit from Apria Healthcare Group Inc. in November 2013 for about $2.1 billion. Coram is one of the nation's largest providers of infusion services, providing therapies and nutrition services to more than 20,000 patients a month.
