House Bill 1360 would require professional massage therapists to be held to the same standards as other health care professionals, according to the bill’s author, Rep. Sue Errington, D-Muncie.
“Professional massage therapists welcome more stringent regulation for their industry,” Errington said in a prepared statement. “This legislation helps separate amateur therapists from those who are truly devoted to providing high-quality treatment to their patients.”
The measure passed unanimously and now moves to the full House for consideration.
