Building owner Keystone Realty Group announced Monday morning that Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse has agreed to occupy 8,000 square feet in the building’s corner space at Illinois and Market streets.
The 200-seat restaurant plans to open early next year in the 150,000-square-foot building.
“Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse represents a superior experience in fine dining that is new to Indiana, and will be a welcomed addition to the Indy dining scene,” Keystone CEO Ersal Ozdemir said in a written statement.
Founded in 1988, Hyde Park operates 16 high-end steak and seafood restaurants in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida. In addition to the steakhouse, the company operates Jekyll’s Kitchen, eleven, ML Tavern and Black Point Prime Steak & Seafood.
“Having watched the Indy market for a long time, it’s clear that people here know and appreciate a fine steakhouse, Rick Hauck, co-owner of Hyde Park Restaurant Group, said in a press release.
Hyde Park will join existing upscale downtown steakhouses St. Elmo Steak House, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Shula's Steak House, Morton's The Steakhouse, Harry & Izzy’s, Mo’s … A Place for Steaks, and Prime 47.
Keystone’s plans for the Illinois Building also include a rooftop bar and restaurant on the 11th floor.
Giordano’s announced April 22 that it plans to open in the building in November. The Chicago-based chain entered the Indianapolis market in January in the Rivers Edge shopping center near Keystone at the Crossing.
The Illinois Building, built in 1926 but closed for more than a decade, will be anchored by a Canopy by Hilton, as IBJ reported in October. McLean, Virginia-based Hilton Worldwide is rolling out the new brand in 10 cities nationwide.
Keystone bought the building, which is just a block west of Monument Circle, in late 2013 and has embarked on a total rehab of the structure.
