Subscribe NowWestfield-based Standard Locknut LLC notified state officials Friday that it has laid off another 39 employees, following 35 who were idled in April. Standard Locknut, a manufacturer of bearings and steel components, said it laid off the employees after its largest customer began reducing inventory. The layoffs are expected to be temporary, but the company was unsure when the employees would return to work. Standard Locknut was founded in 1949 and had roughly 170 employees before the layoffs.
