Central Indiana lost a good friend last month with the death of Marjorie Tarplee, a distinguished Indiana civic leader. Marge spent more than 50 years as a dedicated volunteer to our city. She was the first woman to chair the 500 Festival board. As a businesswoman, Marge served as the president of the Central Newspaper Foundation and corporate secretary of Central Newspapers Inc., the former owner of The Indianapolis Star.
Crosswords were her obsession. She refused to work them except with a pen. Per her request, I made a puzzle for her using English grammar as its theme. She loved it. Hope you enjoy it as well.
