The annual award recognizes an individual or company that is emphasizing creative thinking, problem solving and risk taking.
Wettrick leads the high school’s Innovations class, which allows students to pursue projects varying from product development to public-policy initiatives through collaborations with professionals.
He also authored the book titled “Pure Genius: Building a culture of innovation and taking 20 percent time to the next level.” He is an educational innovation consultant and speaker and has been a teacher for 18 years.
Past winners of the award include Carmel-based Delta Faucet and Indianapolis Zoo CEO and President Michael Crowther.•
