College of Applied Sciences and Technology Dean Mitch Whaley told the board Wednesday that the creation of the college creates a more contemporary and cohesive college for health-related programs. As part of Ball State's formal academic planning, two task forces recommended the move.
The new college's academic programs would include athletic training, nursing, speech pathology and psychology. Health professions are currently scattered around campus. The University Senate reviewed the proposal on Sept. 3 and unanimously passed a recommendation for the creation of a College of Health.
