Ton, 57, was previously with Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana Inc., where he oversaw information technology since 2010 and assumed purview over marketing in early 2013. Effective Oct. 12, he’ll be executive vice president of product and service development at Bluelock.
“I am very excited to join the team at Bluelock,” Ton said in an email. “As an IT leader that partnered with Bluelock to dramatically transform the way my previous organization viewed and leveraged technology, I view this as my opportunity to help other IT leaders do the same.”
Ton has spoken at various industry conferences and was named a 2015 IBJ CTO of the Year honoree. He joins Bluelock as the company is bolstering its cloud-based “disaster-recovery-as-a-service” offerings, which involve businesses’ backing up enterprise data in the cloud.
The company began that push in 2013 and expects to increase revenue 30 percent this year.
Ton said after 35 years in the corporate information-technology industry, his new job will allow him to be “on the business side” and “part of the product instead of the back office support.”•
