Alzheimer’s patient found safe after long search-WEB ONLY

An elderly woman missing for more than eight hours is safe this morning. Lizzie Holmes, 83, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, walked away from her home late last night, prompting a massive search from East 56th Street to East 38th Street, and from Fall Creek Parkway to Franklin Road. The search, which included the use of thermal-imaging equipment and search dogs, concluded when Holmes was found just two houses away at about 6:30 a.m., asleep on a neighbor’s porch.
