The deals for Stephens Honda and Stephens Hyundai closed Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.
The Stephens dealerships are on Liberty Drive, just off of State Road 37 and West Third Street, and will be renamed Andy Mohr Honda and Andy Mohr Hyundai.
The dealerships were sold by Davis Automotive of Indiana Inc., which does business under the Stephens name.
Cars have been sold in Bloomington under the Stephens names since 1940, when Harry Stephens & Co. began selling Studebakers. It later began selling Oldsmobile, Honda and Hyundai vehicles.
“Our goal in Bloomington is to have a large inventory of vehicles for our customers to choose from and to pass our volume discounts onto our customers,” said Andy Mohr Automotive Group owner Andy Mohr, who got into the automotive business in 1993 while attending Indiana University in Bloomington. “That strategy has worked well for us in other markets and we are excited to get started in Bloomington.”
The Andy Mohr Automotive Group is composed of 12 dealerships under the brands Ford, Lincoln, Chevy, Toyota, Scion, Nissan, Buick, GMC, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen. Its dealerships are in Avon, Fishers, Indianapolis and Plainfield.
The company sold more than 20,000 new and used vehicles in 2015. It also owns the Andy Mohr Truck Center in Indianapolis, which sells Ford and Volvo trucks, and Provident Insurance Group, which sells auto, home and recreational vehicle insurance.
