Dual enrollment is up almost 44 percent this year. More than 16,000 high school students took dual-credit classes, which are often taught in high schools during the regular school day.
Ivy Tech estimates that the credits earned this year will save Indiana parents nearly $8 million in college tuition costs.
Ivy Tech President Thomas Snyder says exposing students to college in high school could open up the prospect of a higher education for kids who might not otherwise consider it.
