The $1.6 million improvement project will add a lane for drivers entering or exiting the highway at Exit 130. Whitestown is covering 25 percent of the cost, and INDOT is providing 75 percent of the funding.
The interchange, which is frequently used by Zionsville and Whitestown commuters and is adjacent to the Anson development, won’t close during construction, but lanes will be restricted.
Construction is expected to continue through September.
“INDOT understands how quickly this area is growing and how important it is to create a fix now,” Whitestown Town Manager Dax Norton said in a prepared statement. “This lane configuration project is vital for our residents and our businesses, and it is needed to continue to attract future growth.”•
