As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowTrustees at Indiana University on Friday are to consider a $53 million plan that would enclose the south end zone of Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
The board will take up the plan during its business meeting in Indianapolis at IUPUI. The plan calls for a more than 66,000-square-foot addition to the football stadium. There would be a rehabilitation and treatment center, and a facility for academic support. The football team's locker room would be renovated and expanded, and a players' lounge would be added.
The plan also would add two new video boards. One would be 40 feet by 70 feet in the south end zone and the other 20 feet by 60 feet in the north end zone.
The school anticipates paying for the renovations with donations and athletics department revenue.
