“For nearly seven years I have been doing long distance with my husband,” Kane wrote in Facebook post. “Tom lives in New York and loves his job out there. … However, the traveling back and forth has gotten to be too much.
“Tom and I would like to start a family of our own very soon and it would be too difficult to do that living 774 miles apart (exact number!).”
Kane made a similar announcement on air Monday. Her last day on “Fox59 Morning News” will be Friday, she said.
“I have put my career first for so long, and we have to in this business,” Kane said. “And I think the folks at home know this. You have to move around, and we build our careers. … I have loved the last three year here, but it’s time for us to focus on our future.”
Kane started her career at WCBS-TV in New York and most recently worked at Central Florida News 13, a Bright House Networks news operation.
The TV news industry is notorious for its nomadic talent. WTHR-TV meterologist Nicole Misencik left the air earlier this month.
