The Morgan County coroner is investigating the second worker death this year at an Indianapolis Power & Light power plant near Martinsville.

Coroner Annette Rohlman says the death Monday afternoon at the Eagle Valley Generating Station is being investigated as an accident.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Department told WRTV-TV the worker was struck in the head after a rigging device failed.

IPL said the dead worker was a contractor.

The worker's name hasn't been released.

IPL spokeswoman Brandi Davis-Handy said in a written statement: "Safety is always our top priority, and we will continue cooperating with emergency personnel to confirm details regarding the incident."

Fifty-year-old Worker Rickey A. Brewer of Danville died in a March accident at the plant.
