The 2018 ECHL All-Star Classic and Skills Competition is scheduled for Jan. 15 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
The midseason showcase features top talent from the 27 teams in the Fuel’s league, the ECHL, which was formerly known as the East Coast Hockey League. The ECHL is considered the “AA” minor league for the National Hockey League.
This year’s ECHL All-Star Classic was played Wednesday night in Glens Falls, New York. Forward Alex Wideman represented the Fuel in the game and scored two goals.
The 2018 event will feature the official induction ceremony of the 11th class of the ECHL Hall of Fame.
ECHL officials say the last 10 All-Star Classics have generated more than $1 million for the local economy of the host city. Players, coaches, officials and fans typically book hundreds of hotel rooms for the three-day event.
Sporting goods supplier CCM Hockey is the title sponsor for the 2018 event.
