Fine replaces David Stippler, who retired on Jan. 1 after 11 years in the position.
From 2014-2016, Fine was a Republican state representative for a district that includes Munster and Hammond. Fine ran for re-election but lost in November.
A native of Hammond, Fine has 40 years of experience as a practicing attorney. He has also served on the Board of Managers for the Lake County Bar Association and on the Lake County Election and Voter Registration Board.•
