The Indiana Finance Authority announced Monday the new completion deadline of May 31, 2018, after saying last month the 21-mile segment was still set to be finished by Oct. 31. The section been plagued by delays since work started in 2014 and was originally scheduled for an October 2016 completion.
The agency said private developer I-69 Development Partners and contractor Isolux Corsan LLC will infuse an additional $75 million into the project. It also said the state will convert its first-year payment to the developer into an additional mid-construction payment, making $28 million this year and in 2018 to fund completion of the project.
