this week.
Ivy Tech officials said 109,663 students had signed up at its campuses across the state as of Sunday.
That’s an increase of 23,000 students over last fall, or a 27-percent jump.
The final enrollment figures could
change slightly as some students make the last-minute decision to drop classes or sign up. The school plans to release an
official tally of first-day enrollment tomorrow.
Some students have had trouble getting into classes they want
or need to take. The school says they can get on waiting lists, take classes at another of Ivy Tech’s 23 campuses or choose
courses that start later in the semester.
