LETTER: Taxis, Uber need level playing field

Uber and Lyft should be subject to the same rules and regulations as taxi services [City mulls taxi rule changes in era of Uber, Lyft, June 19].

These companies are just using a loophole in the law to get around taxi rules. Time to close that loophole and make everyone play on an even playing field.

I will never use Uber or Lyft. I simply do not trust the business and I cannot respect any operation that seems to place all the risk on the drivers while the company assumes all the reward. No thanks.
