INDOT Commissioner Michael Reed has chosen Sam Sarvis as the agency’s deputy commissioner for major program management. His appointment was announced yesterday.
Reed said Sarvis has experience with local and state highway construction. He also has working relationships with many top civic and business leaders throughout the area of the planned I-69 extension from Indianapolis to Evansville.
Sarvis will be the executive in charge of all planning, development and construction of the I-69 Corridor. He also will direct the activities of consultants, engineers, construction and environmental matters.
Sarvis joined INDOT in 2005 as the deputy commissioner for the Vincennes District. Prior to joining INDOT, he served as the street commissioner for the city of Vincennes and highway superintendent for Knox County.
