Massachusetts-based Stride Rite Corp. has notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that the company will close its distribution center in Huntington, leaving 120 employees jobless.
The footwear and apparel retailer said Friday it plans to close the center on Sept. 18 and will lay off employees in two phases: 55 on Sept. 11 and 65 the following week.
Huntington is in northeast Indiana, about 30 miles southwest of Fort Wayne.
