Members of the FOP Lodge No. 86 joined Visit Indy officials Thursday to make the announcement.
Visit Indy spokesman Chris Gahl told IBJ that up to 6,000 FOP members from across the country are expected to attend the event, to be held Aug. 16-19, 2021, at the Indiana Convention Center.
Law enforcement officers from across the country will gather to network with fellow officers, engage in professional development, and connect with innovative new products and ideas, Visit Indy officials said.
The estimated local economic impact for the event is $7.1 million, according to Visit Indy. That should put the event close to or among the top 20 biggest events—based on economic impact—in Indianapolis that year.
