Indiana Athletic Director Fred Glass announced the move Tuesday, a day after FIU called off this weekend's football game and all planned sports events through Sunday—including games in men's and women's soccer, golf and volleyball.
The game contract between Indiana (1-1) and Football Championship Subdivision member Charleston Southern (0-1) has been signed, and the kickoff time will be announced at a later date.
The new contest lets IU avoid having just five home games this season.
Charleston Southern was unable to play at South Carolina State on Saturday because of Hurricane Irma, so it was looking to pick up another game.
The Hoosiers next play against Georgia Southern at home on Sept. 23.
