Duffy’s parent company, Cleveland-based Brittany Stamping LLC, told the Muncie Star Press that the decision to close was caused by poor national economic conditions “created by the collapse of the banking and auto industries.”
Duffy’s Muncie work force has declined since 2001, when it had a peak of 450 workers at two city plants.
