The building, to be called the Anthem Technology Center, will be in the heart of the city’s midtown district. Construction is planned to begin in January and should be complete in two years, Anthem said.
Anthem Senior Vice President Tom Miller said the 352,000-square-foot building “is designed to inspire cooperation and creativity and enable us to work smarter in an effort to transform health care.”
The tech center is expected to create 1,800 jobs in Atlanta. Anthem did not say how much the project will cost. The deal is in the form of a build-to-suit agreement with Atlanta-based Portman Holdings. The architect is John Portman & Associates.•
