Subscribe NowFishers-based Strada Education Network, restructured last year from its previous life as loan guarantor USA Funds, announced that a new national not-for-profit focused on working adults has joined its network of affiliates.
The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning joins InsideTrack, Roadtrip Nation, College Confidential, DXtera Institute, Education at Work, and Student Connections as affiliate members of Strada.
The Chicago-based council, known as CAEL, is aimed at supporting “adult and working learners on their path to and through higher education as well as to meet the critical talent needs of employers,” according to a press release.
“This partnership is about increasing equitable access to higher education and careers, increasing completion of credentials, and improving career prospects for underserved populations, including the more than 80 million U.S. adults who have a high school diploma but lack a postsecondary degree,” said CAEL President and CEO Pamela Tate in a release.
CAEL offers employer and education partnerships that enable employees to pursue their careers and education at the same time. The “learning in context” program helps universities and colleges support adults, veterans and other underserved populations. It also does research and advocacy to help support education access.•
