to a federal pact with the U.S. Marine Corps.
The company recently was awarded a multi-million-dollar contract
to supply metal furniture for the Marine Corps’ Camp Lejeune base in North Carolina.
University Loft purchased
equipment from a closed plant in Richmond and will invest $250,000 in a new production line to manufacture the metal
furniture, said James Jannetides, University Loft’s president and CEO, in a written statement.
“We
are making the very best products for our service men and women around the globe,” he said. “In the good old-fashioned
way, we beat out our competition and now it is our privilege to provide jobs for Indiana while producing high-quality furniture
for our country.”
Founded by Jannetides in 1986, University Loft purchased land in 2006 in Hancock County
and built a new $22 million, 508,000-square-foot headquarters in Mount Comfort.
