Department of Homeland Security, to its board of directors, the company announced this morning.
Ridge is currently
president and CEO of Washington, D.C.-based Ridge Global, a security consulting firm.
“Tom Ridge brings
a significant amount of additional depth and experience to the board, and I am delighted that he is joining us,” said
Robert J. Laikin, chairman and CEO of Brightpoint, in a prepared statement. “His expertise in risk management and global
trade security are particularly valuable to Brightpoint and our vendors and customers.”
Ridge was twice elected
governor of Pennsylvania before leaving during his second term in 2001 to direct Homeland Security.
