Subscribe NowIowa-based Pancheros Mexican Grill, a fast-casual restaurant chain with 70 stores in 14 states, intends to open multiple stores in central Indiana, beginning with an Indianapolis restaurant in 2019, the company said Wednesday.
Panchero’s added seven locations in 2017 and plans to open 10 more this year as part of an expansion focusing on mid-sized markets in the Midwest and East Coast.
The company is in the process of identifying a franchisee for the central Indiana stores, said Mackenzie Coopman, a spokeswoman for Panchero’s. She said the company anticipates inking a deal by the end of the year and then identifying a location for the first store.
A profile of the company at Franchising.com said the franchise fee for Pancheros is $30,000 and that the 60-seat stores are typically 2,000 to 2,400 square feet.
This won't be Pancheros' first attempt at cracking the local market. The chain, which promotes its fresh ingredients, fresh-pressed tortillas and proprietary method of mixing burrito ingredients, opened a north-side store here in 2012 that later closed.
